This ship does not feel kitbashed and looks like something that could easily have appeared as a supporting ship in various episodes, though it never did. Paintwork is as you should expect for a good quality Federation model with a classic aztec finish, bold livery and colourful swooshes and pennants. Joins on the sides are nacelles are bit too obvious though. The construction is very good with well made nacelles and saucer joins on the underside. The section at the back of saucer works well curving gently out of the saucer with elegant struts.

It’s always good to see transparent plastic in use though I really rather expect it for Starfleet ships. The ramscoops are simple transparent red caps and a thin transparent blue slit that runs around both sides and back. They are blocky with a interesting gold ridged section part way along the nacelle. The nacelles are a new design I haven’t seen in other Federation ships yet though I believe they will appear on at least one other Wolf 359 model. The saucer is a simple ellipse much like the Enterprise D’s with a section that curves out upwards and downwards to which the four struts and nacelles are attached. The basic four nacelle layout remains the same but the aesthetics are more closely related to those of the Enterprise D’s time. The Cheyenne Class is one of the more polished designs and is a successor of sorts to the Constellation Class (see the USS Stargazer). So far we have seen the USS Kyushu and USS Saratoga but expect to see several more of varying elegance.

Much like the ships from the Battle of Sector 001 these are barely seen at all aside from a brief glimpse in the background from a single episode. The USS Ahwahnee continues the subcategory of Federation ships that appeared at the Battle of Wolf 359.
